About Me

School & Work
I have been a registered nurse since 2004. Currently, I work in the newborn intensive care unit and have returned to school to receive a doctorate of nurse practitioner in neonatology. I love learning. Once a week, I volunteer in the local temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love being able to serve. I live in an apartment with two fun roommates who are also attending school.

Hobbies
I love the outdoors, especially hiking. I have hiked Mt. Borah, (the tallest mountain in Idaho) and Mt. Whitney (the tallest mountain in the lower 48 states). Some of my other favorite hikes have been the south Rim of the Grand Canyon, Mt. Jefferson, table rock, Mt. Baldy, Angels Arch, and the Joint. I also love traveling and have been able to travel a lot. I love people and love learning about cultures and languages.

Music is another love of mine. I love listening to it. I love playing the piano, violin and have recently started the guitar. I love singing to music and I love dancing to it. I am a modern ballerina and tap dancer. I love performing. I also love social and ballroom dancing. My favorite sport is basketball. I also love trying new things.

Family
I love my family. My father and mother met in college and are wonderful people. My mom was a nurse, but was a stay at home mom for me growing up. She has worked in book keeping since. My father is a doctor. I have wanted to be nurse since I was a young child because of them. I have five siblings who are all over the country, but we are very close. I have a wonderful family.

My Beliefs
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It has been a joy to my life. I volunteered to serve full time for 18 months to share the joy this message has brought to me to the people of New Jersey. I loved that opportunity. Although no longer full-time, I still enjoy being involved in service.

My Testimony
God lives. He is our Heavenly Father and loves us. He wants us to return to live with Him. We may do so because he sent His son Jesus Christ to atone for us. He lived on this earth, suffered for our sins in the garden of Gethsemane that we might be worthy to live in God’s presence again. He was crucified on the cross, but rose on the third day breaking the bonds of death; through Christ we can all live after this life.

From the beginning of this world the Lord has always taught His children, beginning with Adam and Eve. Adam was the first prophet on this earth, who spoke with God and taught his children the gospel. Prophets have been called throughout time to be God’s mouthpiece on the earth. Prophets such as Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Moses. These prophets had the power and authority of God (priesthood) to act in God’s name to teach His children and prophecy of the future coming of Jehovah in the Old testament, the Messiah in the New Testament.

While Christ was on the earth He organized His church. He taught principles of faith, repentance, baptism by immersion, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. He established apostles, bestowing upon them the authority.

After the death of Christ and the apostles the priesthood authority no longer was on the earth. Many good individuals held on to the truths taught by Christ and the words of what we know as the Old and New Testament. This time was prophesied in the New Testament in Acts 3:19-21, which also refers to a restitution of all things. Ephesians 1:10 also prophecies this time: a dispensation of the fullness of times.

This prophesy began to to be fulfilled when a young boy Joseph Smith while studying the Bible found James 1:5 the faith to seek the Lord in prayer to learn which of all the churches He should join. God the Father and His son Jesus Christ appeared to the young boy instructing Him that He should join none of them; he was told as he prepared himself he would be called to be a prophet and to reestablish all things as they had previously restored. I know Joseph Smith was called of God, given the authority to act in His name, and establish his church. Apostles were established, the authority to perform baptism and to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.  We do not require the same manifestation Joseph Smith received to know that this was the fulfillment of the prophecies of fullness of time. The Lord however does expect us to study it out first and then turn to the in prayer.

As we pray in faith, honestly seeking for truth, the Lord will teach us through the power of the Holy ghost. The Lord in promise to a restoration of all things has brought forth another testament of Jesus Christ.  Like the Bible it prophesies of the coming of Christ and testifies that Jesus is the Christ. It is a record of ancient inhabitants of the Americas and was translated by the power of God by Joseph Smith. It stands as testimony that God’s church in its fullness has been reestablished on the earth; this is the dispensation of the fullness of times; the heavens are not closed. God speaks to his children. This is how I have come to know these truths. The fullness of the gospel is restored to the earth.

Joseph Smith restored this gospel in the 1800’s, but that same priesthood authority is on the earth today with current prophets and apostles. Today I know President Thomas Monson is god’s mouth piece for us this day.
We have the blessings of the fullness of all things in these days. This includes temples. Temples bring us the blessings of families for eternity, not just til death do we part. As I visit the temple I feel the love of God has for me and for all his children. I look forward to marrying in the temple. I know marriage is ordained of God between a man and women. I know God desires to teach us, guide us and that He answers prayers. He knows us. These things I know are true. It has been a great joy in my life. I love the word of God: the Old and New Testament, the Book of Mormon and modern revelation from Prophets today. I study daily His words and turn to God in prayer. It brings daily peace, joy and guidance to my life.
